Nitrogen Pumping Services
State of the Art
All of Kamber’s N2 pumping units are specially constructed, state-of-the-art flameless nitrogen pumping units designed for process, pipeline and downhole applications. Each unit is operated and managed by some of the most experienced personnel in the field. The N2 pumpers work on their own or in conjunction with the Kamber’s coiled tubing equipment to provide a synergized service for Kamber customers.
Fully Equipped
Each Kamber N2 Pumping Unit is equipped with fully computerized control systems providing precise pumping operations with up to the second readouts on pressure, temperature, rate and product levels.
All of Kamber’s units utilize hydraulics, exhaust and heat from the engine to turn liquid nitrogen into gaseous nitrogen (N2), thus the safety of no fire on location.
Nitrogen is used in place of air whenever a risk hazard assessment dictates. It is used to shield potentially reactive materials from contact with oxygen and that is why Nitrogen Pumping is crucial to the oil & gas industry.
Kamber’s units can pump liquid nitrogen at a rate of 80 scm/min with pressures to 70 MPa and can obtain a 70% legal axle weight so we are able to service during spring breakup.
Kamber has a strategically located supply of nitrogen with company-owned silos located in Kamber’s yard in Fort St. John.

Why Nitrogen?
Nitrogen (N2) is a colorless, odourless and tasteless gas that makes up 78.09% (by volume) of the air we breathe. It is non-flammable and it will not support combustion. It is colorless, odourless and tasteless. By this nature, nitrogen pumping promotes safety in the oil & gas industry because there is no fire or combustible source. Gaseous nitrogen is valued for inertness. It is used to shield potentially reactive materials from contact with oxygen and that is why nitrogen pumping is crucial to the oil & gas industry.
Because it is an inert (intrinsically safe) gas, it can be pumped into a well bore to improve fluids recovery. This also reduces the risk of costly formation damage around wellbores. Nitrogen is also much safer for turn-arounds and purging operations where you would have open vessels and mud tanks.
